Responsibilities & Services

The Revenue Division takes great pride in building relationships with local businesses. We understand that opening and operating a business can be a bit overwhelming and difficult at times, and that is why we are here to help. Our division responsibilities include issuing business licenses and collection of various taxes. Most of all, our major responsibility is assisting you, our business community.   

The Revenue Division provides assistance to new and existing businesses, issues business licenses, and collects the following taxes:

  • Auto Sales and Rental Tax
  • Consumer Use Tax
  • Gas Tax
  • Liquor, Beer, Wine and Tobacco Tax
  • Lodging Tax
  • Rental Tax
  • Sales and Seller's Use Tax

Sales Tax Information

To apply for a tax identification number for the City of Daphne, please complete and return the City of Daphne Business Tax Identification Application.  You may remit this form either through mail, email or in person at Daphne City Hall.  There is no charge to apply for a tax number.

The sales tax rate in the corporate City Limits of Daphne is 9.5% (4% to the State of Alabama, 3% to Baldwin County and 2.5% to the City of Daphne). At this time, the City of Daphne does not collect tax in our Police Jurisdiction.
