Daphne Police Citizens' Academy

The Daphne Police Department held its first Citizens’ Police Academy in 2024. This experience allows citizens to learn more about daily law enforcement, specifically within the Daphne community,  operations, crime scene investigating, dispatch & jail operations, criminal statutes, opportunities to ride with patrol officers and much more. 

The Academy is conducted in two-hour blocks of training and instruction.  After the program concludes, attendees receive 12 hours of training and participate in a total of eight (8) hours of ride-a-longs with Daphne Patrol Officers. Report a Crime Tip

If you would like to report a crime tip, you may do so by using the Report a Crime Tip Form. If you are reporting an emergency, please call 911. All submissions will be responded to within one (1) business day. If you would like to speak to an officer, please leave your contact information. Otherwise, you may remain anonymous. 

SYNC - Secure Your Neighborhood from Crime!

Crime happens everywhere and in some way affects every citizen. Law enforcement is more successful with citizen partnerships. Property crimes, such as car break-ins, thefts from sheds or garages, and residential burglaries, make up the highest percentage of criminal activity reports in Daphne. Inexpensive home security cameras have become popular, and Daphne Police Department has been successful in solving several cases based on footage collected from the victims and their neighbors.

Collecting this footage typically requires an officer or detective to canvass a neighborhood by going door to door looking for cameras and citizens willing to help their neighbors. This is a time consuming process.

Beginning October 2019 for National Crime Prevention Month, we begun asking residents with home security camera systems to register with the Daphne Police Department.

This program is 100% voluntary!!

We are not asking for access to the system; we simply would like to know where footage may be available in the event there is a crime on your street or in your neighborhood.

How to Partner with Us

Please complete this form or you may contact the Daphne Police Department Detective Unit at 251-620-0150 and provide your name, address, and contact information. We will keep a list of possible locations for video evidence.

Should there be a crime in the area of your home, a detective will contact you and ask for you to review your system’s footage within a narrow time frame.

The Daphne Police Department is located at 1502 US Hwy 98. The Joseph H. Hall Justice Center is named so in honor of the former chief who served as Daphne's police chief for 35 years.
